Thank You

On behalf of Stop the Spray SF and all the Stop the Spray groups, we would like to celebrate and thank all the individuals, public officials, doctors, scientists, and more than 30 local governments and 80 organizations who spoke out to stop aerial spraying of pesticides over our cities for the light brown apple moth (LBAM). The state’s abrupt decision to halt the urban spray is a clear testament to the power of an informed movement of citizens.

We still have many unanswered questions and concerns about the rest of the LBAM Eradication Program which includes, aerial and ground applications of a variety of chemicals in our communities and our farms, as well as the "new technology" of releasing sterile LBAMs in the tens of millions. We remain vigilant and active as we await further information from the CDFA and regroup for next steps.

We hope you will continue to oppose this whole program while supporting the transformation of agriculture from dependence on mono-cropping and toxic chemicals to a reliance on the wisdom of nature via organic, bio-diverse farming, so we may all enjoy a healthy, pesticide-free food supply.
